PROBLEM
Operate and control telecommunication systems in a scenario of rapid increase in the volume and complexity of information.

SOLUTION
SCCT, developed by Visionnaire, is an integrated, flexible, and configurable software system (supports technologies from various manufacturers), for managing telecommunications networks. This includes the configuration of data transmission equipment, the physical and logical connections between this equipment and the end-to-end transmission services (channels).

RESULTS
It allows access from anywhere, via browser, on the internet and intranet. It has multi-vendor support and channeling, important when an operator uses equipment from different suppliers, as the management systems that accompany this equipment offer only a fragmented view of services.

TECHNOLOGY
J2EE (Java, Servlets, JSP, Swing, Java Web Start, Java CC), CORBA, Visionnaire Security Service, Distributed Objects, UML, Visionnaire PSS and VISP.

Detailed problem:
As operators increase their range of services and expand their customer portfolios, the complexity and volume of information tends to increase in order to meet demand. This makes the operation and control of telecommunication systems a critical activity to guarantee the quality of the services provided.

These services include different activities and technologies treated in an integrated manner for their viability. In addition to involving several areas of the company – such as operation, engineering, commercial, laboratory, etc. –, there is a need to exchange and share information between these areas to allow for cooperative and synchronized work. There is a clear need for process automation, as well as the integration of data common to different areas in a single, consistent, and integrated repository to be shared.

Detailed solution:
SCCT (Brazilian Portuguese for Telecommunication Channel Configuration System) is an integrated, flexible, and configurable software system for managing telecommunications networks. This includes the configuration of data transmission equipment, as well as the physical and logical connections between this equipment and the end-to-end transmission services (channels) built with this infrastructure.

One of the SCCT's advantages over network management systems, which are provided with transmission equipment and used by all operators, is the support for multi-vendor channels, that is, channels involving equipment from different manufacturers. The SCCT architecture is scalable, allowing users to create equipment profiles to support any product. In addition, it has the facility to import data from specific network managements. SCCT also manages a detailed record of elements, including managed (such as multiplexers) and unmanaged (such as cables or distributors) equipment, which makes it suitable for controlling equipment inventory.

The basic architecture of the system is hosted on specific hardware at the client's premises and executed in an intranet environment. The user interface is based on HTML, and accessible through any web browser. The system has flexible technology, as it is possible to define the technology in the application itself (ex: PDH, SDH, Radio etc.). The SCCT provides a series of reports that provide an easier view of the environment in which you are working. Each report has an emission interface where filters are selected, and comparison values are entered.
