Visionnaire assisted Petrobras when it needed expert advice on Object Orientation and Corporate Java Architecture.
Oil and Gas.
Introduce the concepts of Object Orientation and Enterprise Java in an IT environment that until then was focused on structured (not OO) systems, and make sure that the concepts being created would be the best practices on the world market.
Visionnaire, working together with Petrobras' IT professionals, carried out consulting and
of best practices oriented to Object Orientation for a large area of IT in a large company, allowing the multiplication of
concepts for the rest of the corporation In subsequent years.
Petrobras, like many large corporations at the time, had the great challenge of introducing into its IT processes a technology that was new to the era, which was Object Oriented (OO) and derivative technology. With the help of Visionnaire's work, it was possible to introduce these concepts into a department that had more than 100 people, and would then be replicated in other departments in a company that is the largest company in Brazil.
The technologies were the most used in Object Orientation for the corporate world, such as UML (Unified Modeling Language), Rational Unified Process (RUP), OMG SPEM (Object Management Group - Software Process Engineering Metamodel), OMG CORBA (Object Management Group - Java EE (Java Enterprise Edition), Sun Microsystems Workstations with Solaris Operating System, CORBA for Solaris.
Detailed problem: during the first years of the "Orientation to Objects" revolution, Petrobras needed a highly specialized company to help guide the use of this technology. At that time (2004) Visionnaire already had 5 years of experience in the subject, being the company that brought the concept of Distributed Objects to Brazil in 1995 (Visionnaire is representative of OMG - Object Management Group in Brazil). Petrobras' IT department was undergoing technological redefinition and was introducing the technology of Object Orientation in the company. Visionnaire was hired to assist with these definitions with a consulting work focused on OO, Enterprise Java Architecture, Distributed Objects and CORBA. There was a great challenge to introduce a new technology for the time, in a development process that is based on the concepts of structured analysis and not object orientation. This was a common challenge in many large corporations at the time, as it involved a cultural as well as a technological aspect, and Visionnaire, working closely with some of the company's IT professionals, succeeded in such consulting and culture migration.
Comprehensive solution: Visionnaire brought all of its experience acquired at the time in OO, Corporate Java Architecture, Distributed Objects and CORBA, and carried out training, lectures, technology transfer and technical systems review (focused on
technical review of analysis documents ) Always focusing on deploying OO best practices for corporate
